Iceland Saga Travel,
LLC (IST) is the US expert for travel to Iceland. IST offers you
the wonders of Iceland and its people…all year round. IST is here
to help plan and customize your trip to Iceland. IST also specializes
in travel to Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
IST plans, coordinates and books trips and tours for individuals,
families, groups and businesses. IST provides services to travel
agencies on behalf of their clients.
IST has relations and cooperative agreements with:

IST handles
all bookings and payments and provides its clients with prepaid
vouchers for use on trips ranging from bus transport to and from
the airport to a visit to the island of Grimsey north of the Arctic
Circle. IST can plan trips in detail from arrival to departure or
just arrange an air/accommodation package. IST can pre-book restaurant
reservations, symphony tickets, bus passes, mobile phone rentals,
limousine services, spa reservations, etc. Once travel plans have
been booked and paid for, IST will provide the client with city
and country brochures, maps and guides as well as a detailed itinerary.
Iceland Saga
Travel, LLC is a limited liability company and is owned and operated
by Robert D. Felch of Nantucket, MA. Mr. Felch first visited Iceland
in 1965 and has been a student of the country's history, culture
and tourism business for over 35 years. Mr. Felch has visited Iceland
many times over the past five decades and lived in Iceland for two
years in 1975-76. During this time Mr. Felch worked on a farm in
the north of Iceland, worked in a factory in Reykjavík, Iceland's
capital, and attended the University of Iceland where he studied
the Icelandic language. Mr. Felch also studied Old Norse, Icelandic
literature and history at Cornell University in 1973-4.
In between Mr.
Felch's visits to Iceland, he worked for 23 years in corporate America,
spending 20 years at Chubb & Son, Inc. as an executive. He also
helped his family operate several family-owned retail travel agencies
over a 30-year period. He has been active in the local community
serving as President of the Chatham Township Historical Society
from 1995 to 99 and serving as Senior Warden of St. Paul's Episcopal
Church in Chatham from 1995 to 2001. Mr. Felch has been married
to Marianne D. Hutton since 1979 and they have two children, Sarah
and Dean. Mrs. Felch and Sarah are engaged in the daily operation
of IST. The offices of IST were relocated to Nantucket, MA, in September
2002.
Iceland
Saga Travel, LLC. (IST) has a contractual agreement with Icelandair/USA
as a tour provider. IST is a member of The Wonders Of Iceland Tour
Operators Group. In addition, IST has executed partnership and vendor
agreements with all the major tour, transportation and accommodation
companies throughout Iceland. IST offers services through licensed
and approved vendors with whom IST management has met and tested
offered services. Mr. Felch will run and guide selected tours to
Iceland several times a year during the off-season.
