Sample Meet Iceland Itinerary A (6 days/5 nights)
All overnights in Reykjavík
Depart US to Keflavík on Icelandair.
Day 1 – Reykjavík
Arrive Keflavík, Iceland the next morning or on a late evening flight. Take the FlyBus to accommodations in Reykjavík – Stay at accommodations ranging from 4-star hotels to charming guesthouses located in downtown Reykjavík. Private facilities and breakfast included.
Day 2 – Reykjavík – Golden Circle - Reykjavík
Take the most popular day tour in Iceland: The Golden Circle Super Jeep tour – the best way to get to know Iceland’s history, culture and geology. Includes visits to hot springs, waterfalls, geysers and the mid-Atlantic ridge at Iceland’s famous Thingvellir National Park. Same overnight location in Reykjavík.
Day 3 – Reykjavík
Today is a free day to explore the capital city visiting geothermal pools, museums, galleries and the many shops along Laugavegur. Check out the entertainment and night club scene or dine out at one of Reykjavík’s world class restaurants in the evening. Same overnight location in Reykjavík.
Day 4 – South Shore
Take a full day South Shore Adventure tour (via minibus or coach). See magnificent waterfalls, lava beaches and geothermal areas of southwest Iceland. Departs from hotel at 9:00 AM and returns by 6:00 PM. Same overnight location in Reykjavík.
Day 5 – Reykjavík
Enjoy another free day in the capital city relaxing at a local spa, taking a dip in one of the outdoor geothermal pools (open every day of the year) or partaking in the latest gallery openings. Day 6 – Reykjavík – Blue Lagoon - Home
After breakfast, check out and wait for pickup with luggage for the Blue Lagoon Tour - 9:00, 10:00 or 11:00 AM options - which includes time to bathe at the lagoon. You will be dropped off at Keflavík airport with your luggage at 2:30 PM in time for check-in before your flight departure for the US.
Feel free to add a day or two to this itinerary. For flight departures to Europe, the final day in Iceland may require adjustments. Check with IST for options and costs.
